Taken for the *AbsolutePhotography contest, "As the Rain Falls Down". I took at least a hundred and fifty photographs for this topic (let's hear it for the digital age!) and while a lot of them came out okay to cool, none of them really inspired me. This one was something of a fluke the other day when I happened to drop the umbrella during a shot, but it came out neat enough for me to want to try it again when it was really pouring. And let me tell you, it was -really- pouring. I only wish my camera was more advanced, so I could've better captured the fury of the storm itself. Thunder and lightning like you wouldn't believe, it was exquisite. And there I was, standing in the middle of my driveway with a metal rod in my hand. Yes, my gentle snowflakes, this photograph exhibits a brush with mortality and, I think, a steadfast dedication to the craft. All for you. And * AbsolutePhotography.
